Rachel Bilson has a monthly column in InStyle magazine where people submit style questions for her to answer. Back in December her column focused on gifts—the list included three children’s books. Yippee!

“These three are my staples, or I try to find out my friend’s childhood favorite.” ~ Rachel Bilson

The Giving Tree is such a wonderful story. I am glad to see it on your list here. One of my favorite books to give to friends with kids or no kids is Robert Munsch’s I Will Love You Forever.

  2. Robert Munsch is great. My favorite of his is The Paper Bag Princess.

  3. Christina M says:

I love to give “Listen to the Wind,’ the children’s version of Greg Mortensson’s book “Three Cups of Tea.” Not only is it beautifully illustrated it has such an amazing message.

  4. Beverly says:

My favorite book to give as a baby gift is “Say Daddy!” by Michael Shoulders. Everyone in the family reads to baby bear (love the message being sent!). When each book is finished, the reader encourages the little bear to say the reader’s name. (You know how it is — the competition for the baby to say “my” name first.) The illustrations are lovely and perfect for this book, but the best part is when baby bear says his first word. You’ll never guess what it is! B-)
