Dave Marchetti, author of Steve the Stickleback, has written two more books aimed at children from pre-school to second grade. Dave, the owner of Animal Experiences occasionally has animals escape from their enclosures. Nestle’s Big Adventure is the story of one of his most popular snakes, a brightly colored milk snake named Nestle. Nestle is determined to get out of his nice warm home. He has it all figured out and tries to get his friend Bubblegum to join him for the excitement. Bubblegum, who is a bit more levelheaded, decides to stick with the safety of her home. Nestle escapes but things don’t go exactly the way he expected and Nestle eventually realizes that he should have listened to his friend.

Tree frogs are always a hit with the children at Dave’s shows. Their ability to jump and hang on to all sorts of different materials make them a fun topic for young and old alike. The Frog with Slippery Fingers tells the story of a little girl who absolutely loves tree frogs. She has very impatiently been waiting for the day she has enough money to buy one. When the little girl, Laura, finally gets her tree frog, she discovers he always sits on the ground because he can’t hold onto anything with his ‘slippery’ feet. That’s a serious problem for a tree frog and Laura with the help of her nana sets out to ‘fix’ his problem. Kids will enjoy nana’s imaginative solution to his problem.

    About the Author

Dave’s goal is to provide stories that  entertain and encourage young children to read. Upcoming stories will include a turtle with balance problems and a spider desperate to convince a little boy that he is a good and not a bad spider so he doesn’t get squished. These books are available in soft or hardcover editions as well as in e-book form and can be ordered through the publisher (Xlibris.com) or through the major online book retailers. Signed copies are available through www.facebook.com/theslipperyfrog.
