Tales for Your Monkey’s Mind is a collection of intertwined coming-of-age short stories filled with life lessons. The stories are sandwiched between an opening and closing verse that both set the stage and help refine the reader’s closing thoughts. Each story is set in a different town and has it’s own main character—each town also operates as a character in itself, providing a backdrop to facilitate each protagonist’s lesson needed learning. Collectively the stories remind us to be true to ourselves, let go of perfection, and to live authentic lives.
Tales for Your Monkey’s Mind is well written and very intriguing. Author Steve Michael Reedy is a licensed professional counselor and also teaches classes in reiki, yoga and meditation. His vocational background certainly gives strength to the mind-bending explorations and introductions to adulthood. Reedy’s writing often has a singsong tone that acts like a spoonful of sugar to help the lessons go down, and the unique way that he connects each story through the introduction of a new character in the closing paragraphs is excellent.
Life is full of unexpected twists and turns and so is this book. Tales for Your Monkey’s Mind is sure to appeal to deep thinkers and philosophers, both young and old. What a nice reminder to keep in touch with one’s childhood and to keep a fresh mind.

About the Author
Steve Reedy, MA, LPC, began writing at age ten when his younger sister asked him to write a short story for her English class. The story went on to win his sister several awards. Later he decided to write his own stories and win his own awards. He received his undergraduate degree in Theatre, Film, and Television at the University of California, Los Angeles. He received a master’s degree in counseling at Argosy University’s College of Psychology and Behavioral Science in Dallas, Texas, and is a licensed professional counselor. Reedy also holds licenses in varying forms of bodywork and teaches classes in Reiki, yoga, and meditation. He teaches as an adjunct professor, and has experience teaching and counseling children, the latter lead him to be featured in “Dallas Child Magazine.” To learn more about the author, and his work, visit: www.renewed-spirit.com.
About the Illustrator
Tom Fee’s life long goal has been to never lose his imagination. He began drawing when he was nine years old, and grew to become an Art Director, Designer and Creative Director in small design studios. Then in 1990 he went independent and opened Tom Fee Graphic Design and has continued to work as an illustrator for over twenty-five years. He has lent his talents to a variety of children’s books including “A Tree Full Of Animals,” “The King of Camelot,” and “Revenge of The Snowman,” by R. L. Stine. He also illustrated a set of bi-lingual grade school books, “Just Because You Think Differently” and “Homes In Unexpected Places”. Finding an illustrator that can see into your mind is difficult. Reedy was thrilled to find someone who was not only talented, but understood what he was trying to achieve through his storytelling.
