Freeburg, Illinois  June 25, 2016 – Theuerkauf’s Tails, LLC announces the release of a new children’s picture book, Priceless Penny, written by author Lauren Kramer-Theuerkauf. Priceless Penny chronicles one dog’s amazing journey from solo stray to pampered pooch. Penny was abandoned by her previous owners and left to roam the streets of California alone. She was soon taken to a local high kill shelter. Penny’s life was in great danger and her unique looks made her undesirable in the eyes of would-be adopters.

Penny’s allotted time at the shelter was quickly drawing to a close. She had nowhere to go, no one to love. Then, one day, a woman entered the shelter and discovered Penny. Little did Penny know that she was about to embark on the journey of a lifetime.

The intended audience for Priceless Penny is children ages 3-12. This is an uplifting, true story as told from Penny’s perspective. Children will fall in love with the beautiful illustrations and cheer Penny on in her quest to find a forever home. Priceless Penny is a wonderful book for the emergent reader.

Kramer-Theuerkauf earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mass Communications-Print Journalism from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. While there, she earned the Outstanding Journalism Student Award in 2006. Kramer-Theuerkauf is also an active member of the Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA), Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) and the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA).

Priceless Penny is the second book written by Kramer-Theuerkauf. Her first book is a collection of poetry entitled More Than Words that was published in 2010. She is currently working on the next installment of the Priceless Penny series entitled Penny Meets Miracle. In her spare time, she volunteers for various rescue groups and organizations in the southern Illinois area providing transportation and foster services.
