Are you looking for some Halloween Books for kids (preschoolers, toddlers, or babies)? Here are 3 Halloween board books that won’t leave your youngster bored!

There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a BatThere Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Bat!

    Written by Lucille Colandro

    Illustrated by Jared Lee

A fun take on the popular story of the Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly. Colandro reinvents it with Halloween favorites just as she did with others in her series (an Old Lady who swallowed leaves, snow, and more!) This version is geared toward the older toddler who has a firm grasp on pretend play and imagination, but nonetheless provides many laughs. Lee’s illustrations are on the darker side to keep with the theme. His renditions of the Old Lady and the characters she swallows including a wizard to help her yell “trick or treat” are hilarious.

Five Little Pumpkins- A Fingers & Toes Nursery Rhyme BookFive Little Pumpkins: A Fingers and Toes Nursery Rhyme Book

Written & Illustrated by Natalie Marshall

Marshall takes on a Halloween theme for the next book in her series that follows monkeys and a little piggy. The book is a perfect introduction to Halloween. The tabbed pages allow parents to teach their child counting and hand gestures that go along with the story. Each double page spread is pictured in lovely hues of blues and purples with friendly-looking pumpkins of different shapes and sizes. No tricks in this little book – only treats!

Bizzy Bear- Spooky HouseBizzy Bear: Spooky House

    Illustrated by Benji Davies

Bizzy Bear is back in this new Halloween story as he visits a spooky house that ends with a big Halloween party with his friends. Knowing his audience, Davies does a great job of making the usually scary Halloween regulars (black cat, ghosts, mummy, etc.) friendly-looking with smiles on their sweet animal faces. His colors are tad darker, but are softer shades of reds, blues, and oranges to keep the story light for the youngsters. This interactive “push and pull tab” book will not disappoint with children.
