What to expect: Bedtime Story and Space
The Door to the Moon is a sweet, illustrated bedtime story in which Taye discovers, as the title suggests, a door to the moon.
Taye awakens to the sound of a boom and a flash of light. His curiosity and excitement lead him across the big grass field outside his home. It is here that he discovers a big shiny door with a knob that says open. Without hesitation, he opens the mysterious door because he believes that something exciting is behind it. Much to his surprise, he sees a large staircase that leads right into space and to the glowing moon. It is here that he has an out-of-this-world experience with aliens, astronauts, and spaceships. When it is time to go home, he climbs back into bed and continues dreaming of galactic wonders.
Beyond being a story that pairs perfectly with pajama time, The Door to the Moon encourages readers to follow their curiosity. After all, you never know where your inquisitiveness will lead you. The vibrant illustrations provide vivid clarity for Taye’s dreamy experience, bringing the calming text to life in a tone that is just right for bedtime.
