Alphabreaths Too- More ABCs of Mindful Breathing

Alphabreaths Too: More ABCs of Mindful Breathing

Written by Christopher Willard and Daniel Rechtschaffen

    Illustrated by Holly Clifton-Brown

    Ages 4-8 | 32 Pages

    Publisher: Sounds True, Inc (2022) | ISBN-13: 9781683648574

What to Expect: Mindfulness, breathing, alphabet, gratitude, positive thinking.

A follow-up to the first Alphabreaths book, Alphabreaths Too offers readers more evocative breathing metaphors that make breathing awareness fun and easy and also model (and encourage readers to practice) values like kindness, gratitude, and empathy.

How many different ways are there to breathe? As many ways as there are letters in the alphabet (and more)! You can take tiny puffs of breath like a bunny rabbit or blow out slowly like you’re cooling a cup of steaming hot chocolate. You can breathe in through one nostril and out through the other or roar as you breathe out like a dinosaur. You can even practice breathing with a friend. The most important thing to remember about breathing is that there is no wrong way to breathe, so long as your breathing helps you feel calm, controlled, and focused.

What’s even better than an alphabet book? An alphabet book that guides readers through the techniques and processes of mindful breathing for mental and physical wellbeing. Softly colored illustrations visually model the techniques and values for readers, allowing them to learn interactively through multiple media.

Overall, Alphabreaths Too is one of the most delightful mindfulness tools available for young readers.
