The reader is thrust into Maggie’s world and given first-hand knowledge of the thought process of an 8-year-old girl. It is delightful to read how Maggie grows and matures over the course of a year. Readers are treated to Maggie’s self-reflections and can watch her social awareness grow—there are many opportunities for the reader to reflect on Maggie’s thoughts and actions. In one of her last diary entries, Maggie gives readers a list of things she’s learned throughout 3rd grade, providing more opportunity for quality dialogue.

About the Author
Rae Marsh calls Florida home with her husband, two daughters, and two puppies. This is her first published children’s book, which took several years of thought to create as she wants to include both laughter and life lessons for children. Rae believes that laughter is essential in life, and she wants
to ensure everyone experiences it when reading Love, Maggie: The Chronicles of Third Grade.
