Love, Maggie- The Chronicles of Third Grade

Love, Maggie Chronicles of 3rd Grade

    Created by Rae Marsh

    Ages 7-10 | 118 Pages

    Publisher: Legacy Book Publishing | ISBN-13: 9781958923108

What to Expect: Friendship, family relationships, adapting to change

In Love, Maggie Chronicles of 3rd Grade, we are introduced to Maggie Montgomery, an outgoing social butterfly determined to make 3rd grade the best year yet! Follow along with her adventures in planning pizza parties, learning to ski, and her nervous toots. Through her diary entries, we follow Maggie as she learns valuable lessons in friendship and realizes that families are all different.

Author Rae Marsh uses the diary format of Maggie’s entries to depict 3rd grade in a very authentic way. The reader is thrust into Maggie’s world and given first-hand knowledge of the thought process of an 8-year-old girl. It is delightful to read how Maggie grows and matures over the course of a year. Readers are treated to Maggie’s self-reflections and can watch her social awareness grow—there are many opportunities for the reader to reflect on Maggie’s thoughts and actions. In one of her last diary entries, Maggie gives readers a list of things she’s learned throughout 3rd grade, providing more opportunity for quality dialogue.

Love, Maggie Chronicles of 3rd Grade would make a powerful read-aloud between adults and early elementary children. All in all, this book is sure to delight all 3rd graders (whether past, present, or future)!

    About the Author

Rae Marsh calls Florida home with her husband, two daughters, and two puppies. This is her first published children’s book, which took several years of thought to create as she wants to include both laughter and life lessons for children. Rae believes that laughter is essential in life, and she wants
to ensure everyone experiences it when reading Love, Maggie: The Chronicles of Third Grade.

Rae plans to create a Love, Maggie series and hopes you enjoy reading the books as much as she enjoys writing them. Rae’s excited to share the journey of Maggie Montgomery with all of her readers and assures us that it will be a fun and educational adventure.
