Working together, they realize—the world is even better when you have a friend at your side!
Recognizable situations, like getting lost, eating, and being hurt, help readers identify with Fran and Dan, despite the fantasy setting of the story. Simple text with lots of repetition and carefully chosen font effects supports weaker readers in developing literacy and offers plenty of gentle humor. The illustrations are magical, too, with glowing colors and textures that will make readers want to reach out and stroke the pages.
