A giveaway celebrating fifteen years of The Children’s Book Review.
    The Children’s Book Review

You’re invited to celebrate our 15th year of ‘Growing Readers’ with us!

To thank you for your much-appreciated loyal readership, and in honor of our goal of growing readers, we are giving one lucky bookworm an exclusive prize pack. We love putting together our anniversary giveaway, but before we share the entry form, here are fifteen things we’ve learned along the way from books, reading, growing readers, and you.

15 Things We’ve Learned From Books, Reading, and Growing Readers

    1. Not every book is for every reader, but there is a book for every reader.
    2. Look for the light even in the darkest of times.
    3. Some books are transformative and can change the way you think forever.
    4. Reading can help you think clearly, and understand yourself and life better.
    5. Books can broaden your thinking and how you look at the world and the people in it.
    6. You can travel to far-off places, real and imaginative, without leaving home.
    7. New skill sets can be learned and mastered just by reading a book.
    8. Taking time to read a book of choice is a form of self-care.
    9. Reading can slow you down, help you become more mindful, and encourage you to live your life intentionally.
    10. It’s okay not to finish a book if you’re not enjoying it.
    11. Stay curious, question everything, and if you want something, ask for it.
    12. Your purpose in life is to be where you are and do what you can to contribute to society positively.
    13. Certain books can seem to land in your lap at just the time you need to read them.
    14. Doing what you love doesn’t make life easier, but it makes it more joyful.
    15. It’s community—especially the book community—that drives everything we do here at TCBR and makes it all worthwhile.

    Don’t Wake the Dragon

    Written by Bianca Schulze

    Illustrated by Samara Hardy

    Ages 2+ | 32 Pages

    Publisher: Clever Publishing | ISBN-13: 9781949998641

Publisher’s Book Summary: Don’t Wake the Dragon is a fantastic, interactive bedtime story featuring a sound-asleep dragon who, under no circumstances, is to be woken up! Children are tasked with checking in on the sleeping dragon as the castle cook drops his pots and pans and when the knights throw a loud birthday party. It isn’t until the whole kingdom settles down that the dragon wakes up. What is the kingdom to do?

Designed to be read aloud and interacted with, parents will take pleasure in the playful text as much as children will enjoy gently rocking the book from side to side as they sing the dragon a lullaby. When the story finally comes to an end, and the gentle song is repeated, the dragon (and the child!) is encouraged to drift off to sleep.
