What to expect: Favorite characters, construction sites, machinery and equipment

From the author of the beloved GOODNIGHT, GOODNIGHT CONSTRUCTION SITE comes a new holiday treat, complete with big Christmas surprises.

It’s almost Christmas and everyone’s favorite construction crew is hurrying to finish up a very important project – a new building. Amid all the hectic scurrying, Bulldozer gets to work clearing the ground. It’s a hard job, and at the end of the day he finds a special surprise of a new carbon steel blade wrapped in steel-cable ribbon. Next, Excavator hurriedly moves dirt around the site until night and the first snowflake falls. Just as he’s getting ready to rest, he finds a beautiful new scoop wrapped in a big red bow. Cement Mixer, Dump Truck and Crane Truck all find well-deserved Christmas presents awaiting them, too, just as the day ends and their task is complete. They’ve built a new fire station, and it’s ready for the new fire trucks to move in to.

With horns beeping and lights shining bright, the fire crew move in to their snug new home. What a Christmas miracle!

Get ready to read this one over-and-over again—we’re sure you’ll happily oblige your little tyke. Familiar, well-loved characters and gentle rhyming make this a perfect book for busy little construction workers to read before putting their own toy trucks to bed. The comforting tone of the book will have readers joyfully settling into the rhythm of the sweet story. Children will love the holiday-themed construction site drawings and guessing just who gave the fantastic gifts (hint: look closely at the notes!). The illustrations are colorful and engaging, with enough detail to keep children on the older side interested while the younger children enjoy the smiling, happy vehicles. An excellent addition to the series and a welcome Christmas gift idea for even the smallest construction fans, CONSTRUCTION SITE ON CHRISTMAS NIGHT is a surefire hit.
