Mexican actor Andres Zuno shines as the narrator for this poetry collection, a companion to THEY CALL ME GÜERO. Middle-schooler Güero begins a romance with Joanna “Fregona” Padilla. They share their first kiss, hang out with their friends, and meet each other’s families. Their bubble bursts when Joanna’s father is deported. Zuno ably expresses the deep and complex emotions for the diverse characters and their situations.
