Kingsview Kids Adventures: Internet Friend & Adventure in Africa

by Jessil Abner

Delightful new children’s novel—the first two books in a planned series—offers an escape into childhood fantasy, encouraging kids to follow their dreams, aspire to greatness and to contribute positively to society.

The Kingsview Kids are a loyal and mischievous group of seven best friends – Van and Vee Powell, John, Jess, and Tony Peterson, Rita Patel, and Tobi Clarke. They are on the cusp of two extraordinary adventures. The friends will have to stick together and use their ingenuity and common sense in order to solve the problems that lie ahead. When Van disappears the kids will have to work as one in order to find her. Then, faced by a greedy gang of African armed robbers, they will have to work out how they can stop a terrible crime from being committed. From their homes on Kingsview Street in Dorset, England, the Kingsview Kids will travel to Africa (and Italy in later adventures) on their big adventures, learning about poverty and corruption, compassion and responsibility along the way.

Debut writer Jessil Abner was inspired by her own idyllic childhood – one filled with adventures, picnics, book clubs and staging plays with the help of her teenage sisters. Abner has also worked extensively with young children and is well placed to cater to their needs, balancing fun with education and value, creating stories that can be enjoyed by all the family. She hopes that her writing, which blends Western, Asian and African cultures into a contemporary cosmopolitan perspective, will encourage children to lead purposeful lives, learning to revel in their natural gifts and talents. “In the right hands, the future of today’s children is free from shame and promisingly bright beyond the telling of it!” Page 203.
