Book Overview

Twelve-year-old Lindsey is in for the adventure of her life when she jets off to visit a rich old aunt on the tropical Isle of Elsinore. Populated by exotic animals, quirky robots, and spry, poetry-loving oldsters, Elsinore seems like a topsy-turvy paradise until a myterious Jedgar starts threatening the island. As Lindsey and her pals band together to unlock the mystery, all clues point to Shakespeare who turns out to be—or not to be—the key.

About the Author

Born and raised in Boston, Elizabeth Wahn spent summers at her grandparents’ home in Puerto Rico and grew up speaking English and Spanish. A graduate of Newton College (now part of Boston College) and Middlebury College, she has taught secondary school in Massachusetts, Luxembourg, and Rome, using her knack for fun to instill a love of Shakespeare in her students. Always ripe for adventure, she has visited almost a hundred countries with her husband. Lindsey and the Jedgar is her first book.

About the Illustrator

Ivy Steele grew up in a small village in Southeastern England. College and a rewarding management career in London were followed by many years as a roving expatriate wife and mother of three, living in five countries and traveling to over forty. When on impulse she took up drawing, it turned into a passion. Foreign travel provides continued inspiration for her artwork, and most of the drawings for Lindsey and the Jedgar were done during trips to Ethiopia.
