Magic Moon is a “cool,” quirky, gigantic, somewhat terrifying, alien “moon-like” being who likes puns and jokes when he’s not accidentally causing small earthquakes! He may grant two special requests with his magical powers if you are brave enough to face him!
It was said in the village that one request must be to find a lost treasure. The other request must be for something good which would not hurt anyone else. Magic Moon was very particular about requests.
The young boy was going to ask Magic Moon to help him find his lost toy, but when he sees his sister crying because she’s lost her dolly, he decides to ask Magic Moon to help her instead.
He treks up the mountain and even though he is scared, he bravely asks Magic Moon to find his sister’s lost dolly. Magic Moon makes a joke, and eventually, the young boy relaxes and jokes around with him as well.
When the young boy arrives home, he tells his sister where to find her lost dolly.
The next day he invites a new boy to play basket-ball1 with him at school.
When he arrives home from school, he informs his mother he is going to make his second request of Magic Moon. His mother asks him if he is sure since other villagers wait a long time to make their last request. He insists he is ready.
He climbs back up the mountain to make his last request from Magic Moon. He asks Magic Moon for the secret of happiness.
Magic Moon says the young boy already knows the secret of happiness and asks the boy to recall how he felt when he was unselfish with his sister and kind to the new boy at school.

About the Author
Shirley Moulton, M.S., has been close, personal friends with Magic Moon for her entire life. He asked her to write some of his stories, so naturally, she did. Shirley Moulton has spent her entire professional career of over 35 years working with children who have disabilities (including but not limited to: autism, ADHD, behavior disorders, learning disabilities, and other health impairments).
She’s also worked with non-disabled and gifted children. Shirley Moulton has a Master of Science degree in Special Education and two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Psychology and one in Special Education. She believes every child, whether classified with a disability or not, has many talents and gifts. She’s grateful she can continue to make a positive difference in children’s lives by writing the Magic Moon Children’s Books series. She loves being a mother and a grandmother most of all!
Shirley Moulton’s first book, “Magic Moon: A Young Boy’s Journey” is actually a story she told to her grandchildren one night. She was using a large flashlight, shining it on the ceiling. Two rings glowed around the central light, so she made this “Magic Moon.” She developed the story with “Magic Moon” having the power to grant two requests.

Marilyn Whitchurch earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art Education. She loves all things magical and enjoys creating illustrations for children’s books. She hopes to capture and ride a unicorn someday. She is married to her college sweetheart and has children who have their own kind of magic.
