Play and Learn with Wallace is an interactive learning app designed to help preschoolers through1st graders with their reading skills, counting skills, problem solving, fine motor skills, and hand-eye coordination. Parent participation is helpful to get started and is encouraged so that you can stay in touch with your child’s progress through the “How is My Child Doing?” section.

The entire app is colorful and has loads of kid appeal, it will especially capture the attention of dog and animal lovers. There are multiple different games and settings to play and engage with, each one focusing on a specific skill—the ‘super shuffle’ feature is pretty neat because it allows for endless combinations, giving an extended life to the app for kids who tire of games easily. New learning games can also be added within the app for an additional fee. Positive reinforcement is used throughout as children learn to master the different games. As children make accomplishments they are rewarded with stars and once they complete their reward chart (10 stars) they go on to receive certificates and eventually they go on to win virtual medals. Multiple profiles can be created so that individual progress can be tracked for each child in your clan. According to St. Matin’s Press, the app has been “guided by the best practices of early learning experts and teacher.”

All-in-all, this is a great app that easily engages active learners.

Play and Learn with Wallace comes from Priddy Books, the best selling publisher of over 100 million children’s books worldwide.
