About the Book
Santa returns from his Christmas Eve delivery and upon saying goodnight to his Reindeer, and telling each one what a good job they did on their journey, finds that he’s forgotten one of his main reindeer’s name… “Oh my Golly, my Dear, it’s Blitzen, not Mixen; I fear that my memory’s to blame,” he exclaimed. Santa shares his forebodings with Mrs. Claus, who worries that perhaps he’ll start forgetting some children’s homes on his future flights.
She comes up with a “magical” solution, Magic Dust, that Santa can coat his boots with each time he lands on a rooftop. He’ll then be able to simply follow his tracks, that only he can see, assuring that he’ll NEVER miss any children’s homes on his future Christmas Eve visits.
Your child will be wide-eyed with amazement as they see this fascinating tale come to life and will want to read it over and over again as they anticipate Christmas, culminating in actually SEEING the Magic Bootprints appear from the chimney to where he places the gifts on Christmas morning. They also get to PARTICIPATE by peeling up the Magic Bootprints and putting them in the Magic North Pole Envelope and mailing them back to Mrs. Claus so she can convert them back into Santa’s Magic Dust for next year’s trip.

About the Authors
Dan K. Beard attended Penn State University, and was a U.S. Army Paratrooper in the early Vietnam era. He was an electronic sales manager for NCR for 14 years before following his engrained entrepreneurial spirit. In the late 1970’s he founded and published a very successful magazine in the automotive field, and later conceived and founded a commercial newsletter publishing and publishing business which grew into a 135 employee-strong nationwide enterprise.
When Dan’s first grandchild, Ryan, upon experiencing his first “grown up” Christmas at the ripe old age of two, asked his Poppi why Santa Claus didn’t leave his Bootprints behind, the idea inspired Dan to write a poetic story about how and why Santa’s Bootprints will now appear in homes all around the world. However, due to other matters in which Dan was involved, the idea and story were soon forgotten.
The story languished for eleven years until Dan found it one day in the back of his desk drawer and began the pursuit of turning a young grandchild’s curiosity into a fascinating and spellbinding tale. The story of Santa and his memory problems and Mrs. Claus’ subsequent invention of the “magic dust” which turns into Santa’s Magic Bootprints, slowly evolved into this family Christmas-time tradition.
An afternote: Along with Ryan, who inspired the book (now age 14,) all the other grandchildren, which include Noah (age 13,) Tyler (age 12,) and Anna (age 8,) provided Poppi with feedback on the book and now share the magic with our youngest grandchild, Patrick (age 3,) who ably demonstrates the enchantment of Santa’s Magic Bootprints story… he walks around with the book at the ready from morning to night and can’t wait for the SPECIAL day when Santa and his Magic Bootprints will actually appear.
Dan has plans for several more themed books following the success of Santa’s Magic Bootprints and is currently working on his next venture.

Received the book and have a grandnephew that is 4. He enjoys it. Book large enough for him to sit and hold it while story is being read to him. The idea of the bootprints to put on the pages is great. I’m sure it will be used lots over the holidays. It would be nice for anyone that as small children. Thanks so much!!!
I received the book and the rest of the package yesterday. It looks wonderful for my young grandchildren. I can’t wait to read it to them this weekend. I will ask their Mom to read it again and I know she will love the idea of the bootprints.
Thank you.
Wonderful! I’d love to know what the kids think.
