This charming picture book is a touching story of a young Greek girl who finds a new life in America only to be separated from her favorite dress made by her mother. As the years pass, the girl and her dress seek to find one another in this new land. The story comes full circle when the young girl becomes a mother herself and spots her childhood dress in a store window. She is then able to share this once ordinary dress and the memories of it all with her daughter which makes for one extraordinary story.

Inspired by a personal story, Camille Andros takes readers on a journey. The elegant, sweeping illustrations by Morstad flow ever-so-well with the accompanied text. The beautiful words written by Andros build connections as the story progresses and are cleverly placed on each page to make for pleasurable reading  This story can be great for nighttime reading with a youngster or in the classroom as a supplement to a unit on immigration for the early-middle grades. Overall, a lovely story for the dreamer in all of us that seeks something extraordinary.
