Publisher’s Synopsis: The Parisian Bunny Caper: The Adventures of International Lily, the first book in the Adventures of International Lily series, is the delightful debut picture book from author Yolanda Felton. Ros Webb’s accompanying illustrations bring the magic of Paris to life.

When five-year-old Lily travels with her family to France, she’s ready for the adventure of a lifetime. Lily is enthralled by the sights, smells, and tastes of Paris. The Eiffel Tower and the Louvre make captivating cameo appearances, along with other quintessentially Parisian sights.

Lily’s trusty stuffed animal companion, Ms. Fluffy, is always by her side. After Ms. Fluffy’s sudden disappearance, Lily begins a desperate search to retrieve her stuffed bunny. In the process, she makes some new friends.

Lily’s charm is apparent, and her amusing observations are one of the highlights of the book. Lily’s quest to find her favorite stuffed animal encourages kids not to give up, even when they find themselves in new or challenging circumstances. Lily’s relationships with her parents and friends are believable and heartwarming.

Children of color, particularly black children, will see themselves in this story. Lily’s determination will especially inspire young girls. Young readers will develop an interest in French culture and language, and educators will appreciate the French language references interspersed throughout the book. Readers of all ages will undoubtedly be eagerly awaiting the next book in the Adventures of International Lily series.

The Parisian Bunny Caper is inspired by the actual travels of Felton and her family. When the real-life Lily turned one, she and her family went on a two year trip around the world. The trio and their dog visited 35 countries together, spanning several continents. After blogging about her travels and writing articles, Felton decided to transition into children’s literature. Early elementary readers, parents and grandparents of younger children, and teachers will enjoy reading this relatable debut tale.
