A literary character to vacation with …

Vacation implies down time, which changes our character. (I write when on vacation, so I travel with fictional characters, and take little down time.) So I have no idea what these fictional characters would be like pool side, or on a hike, or at a meal. It’s intriguing to think of what a character would be like with all the conflict sucked out of him or her, isn’t it? I think I might choose Rebecca from the book of the same name by Daphne du Maurier. One of my all time favorite “thrillers,” and her character is outstanding.
