Wander New York: Fitz in the City

Written by Reese Traves

Illustrated by Jon Traves

Publisher’s Synopsis: Fitz the Fox can’t wait to see all that New York City has to offer — but will he get to see the penguin feeding or will a subway snafu derail his plans? A whimsical, sight-seeing jaunt that encourages wonder with rhyming text, peppered with facts and trivia along the way!

Join Fitz as he visits the Statue of Liberty with her 8-foot long index finger, the bustling crowds of Grand Central Terminal, the wondrous, book-filled spaces of the New York Public Library, and marvels at the sky-scraping height of the Empire State Building.

Continue to wander with a walk from Manhattan to Brooklyn across the Brooklyn Bridge and visit the Bronx Zoo along with more iconic landmarks while exploring this exciting city!

  • I have 10 grandkids 5 in Ca and 5 in Ia. Whenever we go on a road trip we always hunt down post cards and send them to all of the grandkids as i want them to know there are other states out there. They are all young right now but when they are older they will understand that New York is like their state Ca where i lived for 49 years before marrying and moving to Ia, Those 2 states couldn’t be any different and I am a teacher and thought i knew all about Ia but wow i didn’t know much at all so I want them to read and to know about the other states. REading is important to me as i am battling a disease and now am reading a whole lot of print books. My fingers are badly crippled from the disease and there is one thing i want them to know is reading is so important just like knowing things about other states. Especially where all the great plays are and things like that they can get from getting a post card to reading a book and seeing the name of a state that is on the eastern side of the USA!

He will be starting kindergarten in a couple weeks so reading is very fundamental and needed right now. We would love to see the character go to the South because we live in South Carolina.
