Who Ate All the Cookie Dough? Well … normally I would have to say it was me, but this time it was someone else! Reminiscent of the preschool game Who Stole the Cookie From the Cookie Jar, Beaumont has created an ‘ear-catching’ story. The simplicity and repetitiveness of the words, combined with the rhyming, make this a story that is really easy for youngsters to listen to, and is perfect for an interactive story time. When Kanga goes to make some cookies and realizes that someone has eaten all of the cookie dough, an investigation takes place to work out who it was. The different animals we meet on each page are illustrated on a white
background, making it really easy to quickly focus on the details –
this is definitely the illustration style of the moment, for me.

In a nut shell … it rhymes, the pictures are very appealing to children (including me), and it sounds deliciously wonderful when read aloud.
