Author Meg Welch Dendler is a former teacher with a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. While over a decade as a freelance writer gave her the chance to interview individuals as diverse as the Archbishop of Cape Town and Sylvester Stallone, in 2010 Meg set her focus on publishing several books for young readers. Meg is thrilled to be sharing her first book, Why Kimba Saved The World, with young readers worldwide. In this first book of the Cats in the Mirror series, feisty house cat Kimba learns that she is really part of an alien race and has to pick sides between her loyal human family and her feline destiny.

Early reviews at amazon.com have been great:

5 stars: “This is a great book about what it means to be a family. Kimba, the main character, is a playful, curious, and brave feline who is met with a hard choice. It’s an entertaining read and I found myself laughing out loud and reading portions to my husband that I thought were particularly funny. I talked about the book so much he ended up reading it too and he enjoyed it just as much as I did. I’m purchasing a hard copy for my niece who loves animals and I can’t wait to give it to her!”

5 stars: “My son is 11 years old and reads books mostly about robots, wars and dinosaurs. When I handed him “Why Kimba Saved the World”, he didn’t seem to take much notice. I went to check on him later and found him reading it like his life depended on it! He came to dinner describing every detail! When he was finished reading, he wanted to know how long he had to wait for another book about Kimba. I have never seen him so excited about a book! Since then, he has been checking out books about animals from the library and started writing a book on his own! I highly recommend this book. It has opened up a whole new world for my son!”

The second book in the series, “Vacation Hiro,” is due out in March of 2014.
