Danny studies hard, finishes his training, graduates, and arrives at the moon via rocket ship. Much to Danny’s amazement, he discovers that the moon is not made up of cheese but of rocks, mountains, craters, and dust. Returning to Earth as the first cat on the moon, he gifts his family with souvenir moon rocks that tie into the unexpected dreamy ending.
Sparse and well-picked text delivers this short tale in conjunction with the cheery, textured illustrations created in myriad shades of nighttime purples. There’s some hidden humor in the artwork, too—be sure to look for the cat in astronaut school attempting to read a ‘space school’ book upside-down.

I am so thrilled to be able to share my story of Danny and his moon adventure! I am a mother of three and a grandmother. After seeing how much my grandchild loved to be read to, I decided to put my idea into writing-and here we are! Danny and the Moon is our favorite bedtime story!
