In this beautifully illustrated Christian faith picture book, readers are taken on a tour of Earth’s wonders, from the desert and the deep sea to their own homes.

What are the fingerprints of God, and where can they be found? For those who know how to look, “Everything in creation reveals the fingerprints of God!” (p. 30). Sometimes, they are revealed in things of beauty, like the sparkling night sky or a beautiful sunset. Sometimes they are revealed in surprising places, like on the blobfish in the deepest ocean depths or a prickly pear in the desert. Sometimes they are revealed on the most ordinary everyday objects, like an apple or our reflections in the mirror. No matter where you see them, however, “They scream of His magnificence hour after hour!” (p. 30).

The overarching message of the book is that God’s power can be seen literally everywhere, as the whole world and everything in it is his creation. By encouraging readers to look closely at the world around them, the book suggests that beauty and magnificence can be found wherever you look. This message is underscored by the beautiful, soft pencil illustrations that use color and movement to emphasize new perspectives on familiar sights. Scripture quotations throughout the story help readers contextualize the ideas and images of Christian belief.

Overall, Fingerprints of God is a beautiful text for teaching young readers about the Christian idea of creation.

This is an awesome book for anyone, not just children. But children will love the simplicity of these truths and the beautiful illustrations. The rhymes stick in your mind and heart. They’ll still be speaking to them as they encounter all the unbelief that is thrown at them as they mature into adults. I highly recommend this book for your children and believe you will also be encouraged as you see God’s fingerprints everywhere, even on this book.
