Little Fun Club

If you are in the market for a book club subscription, we highly recommend Little Fun Club!

Started by parents that were inspired by their own son’s enjoyment of reading, Little Fun Club is now a leading children’s book subscription company based in California. With the goal of delivering fun and educational books directly to your front door, they ship inspiration-filled boxes to all 50 states in the US. At the time of this review, you can have a 3-book monthly subscription for as little as $25.95 (there is also a slightly cheaper 2-book option). Each package contains hardcover books specially selected for the recipient’s specific age group, 3 months through 12 years—when you sign up, all you need to do is select the age of the recipient and they will do the rest. One look at the company’s Instagram account and you can see that the Little Fun Club’s bookshelves are stocked with a huge selection of books that are carefully picked by their knowledgeable staff with the advice of all the big publishing companies.

We received a one-month subscription to try out the service for a five-year-old and can wholeheartedly vouch that the books that were sent are some of the very finest. The variety between the 3 titles was great, too. Included in our curated box was the stunning creative non-fiction picture book Vincent Can’t Sleep, by the award-winning team of Barb Rosenstock and Mary GrandPrè; the Historical Fiction, Caldecott Honor Book Peppe the Lamplighter,by Elisa Bartone and Ted Lewin; and acclaimed author-illustrator Jon Agee’s brightly illustrated and humorous dog tale, It’s Only Stanley.

The team at Little Fun Club are clearly committed to selecting only the best books so that you—parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, caregiver, or gift giver—can be sure that the content of the books delivered will be both healthy for the mind and delightfully satisfying. The books were well packaged and arrived in fantastic condition and were presented in a lovely, classic way—all 3 books were bundled together and wrapped in classic Brown Kraft Paper, tied with a black ribbon, and stamped with a black ink image of an open book encapsulated by these inspiring words: “Start Off On an Adventure/One Book at a Time.”

Gift-wrapped books that are delivered directly to the home can only have a positive impact on young readers. The subscription would also make a great gift for any new teachers looking to stock their classroom library—the kids in the classroom would surely get a kick out of doing a classroom book unwrapping followed by story time!
