If you thought that Dragons Love Tacos was as satisfyingly ludicrous as we did, then you and your fellow dragon/taco lovers are going to devour Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel with relish (or guacamole and mild salsa).
This very playful sequel begins on a sad day for dragons. Why? By now we all know that dragons love tacos, and the world has run out of this dragon delicacy. The narrator must figure out what to do, remembering, of course, to stay away from the spicy salsa that caused problems in the first Dragons Love Tacos picture book. It seems like the perfect time to fire up the time machine and go back in time to the taco party of book one, before the dragons ate any of that infamous spicy salsa. Alas, time machines can be a bit finicky. You had better buckle up and prep for some belly laughs . . . things definitely get fiery on this quest to save the tacos.
Sequels can sometimes be a let down, but this book has a good shelf life—Adam Rubin and Daniel Salmieri have maintained quality, freshness and readability. Rubin easily engages the reader with his direct tone and jocular humor; and Salmieri responds readily with his watercolor, gouache, color pencil, and digital artwork. A dynamic duo for sure!
Get ready to have Dragons Love Tacos 2: The Sequel on repeat for your picky little foodies and bibliophiles! Best served out loud after a reading of Dragons Love Tacos—sans spicy salsa.
