Everyone loves pie—right? But what if every time someone said, “I love you,” a pie got baked? Soon the world would be overflowing with pies! There would be pies for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There’d be so many pies, they would reach all the way up to the moon. People could eat as much pie as they liked, and nobody would mind. But, then again, having so much pie might not be that great after all. People might start to feel sick from over-eating, and everyone would be sticky all the time. People would get bored with pie. The pies might even start to attract vermin! But not saying “I love you” is unthinkable! A compromise will have to be found…

About the Author
Sheila McGraw’s career began as an illustrator and copywriter toiling in the “sequin-mines” of retail fashion houses and advertising agencies. Then, in 1986, Firefly Books approached her to illustrate the book Love You Forever which continues to sell nearly one million copies per year and has crossed generations to become a children’s classic. After the success of Love You Forever, McGraw went on to write and/or illustrate 15 more picture books and craft books including a recipient of the coveted Benjamin Franklin award.
Sheila McGraw was born and raised in Toronto. In 2006 she traded Canadian snow for Texas sunshine, where she lives in a waterfront community midway between Galveston and Houston. She is the mother of three grown sons.
