What to expect: Inventions, friendship
Bear was taking a nighttime stroll through the land of people when he came across a truly most excellent discovery: A Thingity-Jig! It was springy and bouncy and fun to sit on (humans might have called it a couch, but that’s not really the point). Bear knew his friends would love this new Thingity-Jig just as much as he did, so he tried to take it home. It was, unfortunately, far too big for a little bear to carry. And when he asked his friends for help, they were simply too tired and sleepy to come and lend a hand.
That’s when Bear got inventive! He used his quick thinking to create a Rolly-Rumpity, and when that wasn’t enough to get the Thingity-Jig home, he made a Lifty-Upity, too. Filled with ingenious inventions using whatever is available and a can-do attitude, THE THINGITY-JIG is lots of fun and a joy to read. With great wordplay and adorable pictures of sweet forest creatures, author Kathleen Doherty and Illustrator Kristyna Litten have created a real winner of a book. Children will love to study Bear’s clever inventions and will laugh at his silly naming conventions. And his creeping through the nighttime city is sure to delight children. Could there be a bear in the neighborhood at this very moment?
When Bear is finally successful at getting the Thingity-Jig home, they’ll be all tired out, just like Bear, and hopefully ready for bed. And they’ll never look at their couch or bicycle or umbrella the same way again! Get ready for some fun homemade inventions!
An adorable read for young children, THE THINGITY-JIG is sure to make your kiddo giggle.
