The Children’s Book Review is a welcoming space for readers, educators, parents, librarians, authors, and anyone who loves children’s literature. We encourage thoughtful conversation and are grateful for the engaged community that makes TCBR such a vibrant place to explore books and ideas.
To keep our discussions constructive and enjoyable for everyone, we ask that all commenters follow the guidelines below.
What We Encourage
We love hearing from you! Great comments add to the conversation — share your thoughts on a book, ask a question, offer a recommendation, or connect with fellow readers. We especially welcome perspectives from educators, librarians, and caregivers who work with young readers every day.
What We Don’t Allow
To maintain a safe and respectful environment — one that reflects the child-friendly nature of our platform — the following types of comments will be removed:
- Spam or self-promotion — including unsolicited links, advertisements, or repetitive content
- Abusive or offensive language — including profanity, personal attacks, or harassment of any kind
- Off-topic comments — comments that are unrelated to the post or discussion at hand
- Misinformation — content that is deliberately misleading or factually inaccurate
- Hateful content — comments that target individuals or groups based on race, gender, religion, nationality, age, disability, or any other characteristic
Moderation
All comments are moderated and filtered through spam detection technology. TCBR reserves the right to remove any comment that violates this policy or that we determine, at our sole discretion, is not in keeping with the spirit of our community — even if it does not fall into one of the categories listed above. Repeat violations may result in a commenter being blocked from future participation.
Please note that moderation may not be immediate, so there may be a short delay before your comment appears.
A Note on Links
Comments containing links are held for additional review. If your comment includes a link relevant to the discussion, it will be approved once reviewed. Links that appear promotional or unrelated to the topic will be removed.
Respectful Disagreement
We welcome a diversity of opinions, including those that differ from our own. Healthy debate and respectful disagreement are part of what makes a community thrive. We simply ask that all commenters engage with kindness and assume good faith in others.
