When I was growing up, almost all of the books about “heroes” featured men. I am so happy that I will be able to share books with my little great-niece that show women, including BIPOC women like her, doing things she can aspire to.

I want to use my skills as a quilter to bring love and comfort to our community, to people and groups that are often overlooked: the unhoused, the children of those who have died by suicide, and animals awaiting adoption. And I want to use social media to encourage others to consider doing the same.
