    By Caroline Jayne Church

    Age Range: 0 and up

    BoardBook: 12 pages

    Publisher: Cartwheel Books, SCHOLASTIC (2014)

    ISBN: 978-0-8050-9923-2

What to expect: Nursery Rhymes, Illustrations

This delightful board book takes a childhood favorite nursery rhyme, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, and sets it with beautiful illustrations of children around the world. Each of the twelve pages features scenes of tiny tots hugging their favorite teddy bears or dolls and admiring the same beautiful star in the night sky. Children will love the familiar and comforting nursery rhyme set to charming and calming pictures that are perfect for a bedtime story and snuggle. The images are whimsical yet simple, making them easily relatable to even the smallest children.

The cover of the board book is metallic and star-filled, which catches small children’s attention. Toddlers will love to run their hands over the shiny material and hold it up to the light to make it shine like the namesake star. It’s really a simple and beautiful cover, but my daughter fell completely in love with it. She loves to carry it around and make the cover stars ‘twinkle.’

For a book containing only thirty-two words, this sparkly board book packs a ton of fun. Highly recommended for toddlers and children of all ages who love this classic nursery rhyme.
