The Genesis One Code by Daniel Friedmann

The Genesis One Code (Park East Press) grew from my nephews questions about the Creation Day and the age of the universe. How science and religion had different theories.

My secular education is in the sciences with a specialization on physics and electrical engineering. My religious education assisted me in creating the formula for converting “Bible time” to years as we know them in calculating the age of the universe, the sun, and life on Earth. Without any modifications, the formula consistently produces results that match scientific estimates. Friedmann’s formula produced more than 20 Bible/science matches for events described in Genesis.

For much of my life I have searched for an explanation of our origins in both science and religion texts. When I discovered that the two explanations could be reconciled into a one I decided to share the result in a book.

Today the general public remains divided by the origins de-bate. Surveys indicate that half believe God specially created the first humans. Most of the rest affirm that God guided evolution. Only about one in ten accept the God-less theory of origins that dominates science.

Others have used sound and convincing arguments to try to show that one side or the other is right. But this approach is unsatisfying to kids, because, in the final analysis, neither side can completely prove their arguments.  Genesis One Code is the first book to rigorously reconcile the religious and scientific accounts of our origins, written in response to most people’s quandary about the origins of the universe and life, and the seemingly incompatibility between the biblical description and the latest scientific findings.

I wanted kids to know that the Bible actually has answers to questions that remain unanswered by science. Reading the book as a family will bring hours of quality discussion about science, religion and the meaning and purpose of life. I have found compromise in a debate that has raged since the intellectual revolution. This book could cause a revolution.

  • Wow, Daniel, what a great challenge you took on! The creation/evolution debate boggles the minds of scientists on both sides of the aisle. So bravo for attempting to not only explain the issue and clarify the creation position, but to do it in a manner and on a level that children could understand it. You are to be commended. Well done!
