What to expect: Change of Seasons, Adversity, Triumph

The Last Leaf is an inspiring picture book about one little leaf overcoming hardships through sheer determination and a little encouragement from a wise friend.

It’s spring and the leaves on the Great Oak Tree are blooming bright and green and beautiful, except for one small leaf named Crinkle. Crinkle becomes the laughing stock of the tree because of its size and shape. According to the other leaves, Crinkle is sure to be the first leaf to fall off the tree after the first gust of wind comes along. Hearing this, Crinkle becomes afraid. Thankfully, Gus, the biggest leaf on the tree is able to provide some wisdom that might just be the reassurance that Crinkle needs to weather the changing seasons. If the little leaf can hang on, Crinkle may just win the annual Last Leaf Competition.
