Willa and the BearWilla and the Bear

Written and Illustrated by Philomena O’Neill

Publisher’s Synopsis: More than anything, Willa adores her ragdoll, Rosie, made just for her by Grandma. Together, through the seasons, they picnic, pick berries, and jump in piles of leaves. But one winter’s day, on a bumpy sleigh ride to Grandma’s birthday dinner, Rosie falls into the snow and disappears. Willa is inconsolable—and not even a new gift from Grandma helps. Then, mysteriously, Rosie reappears at Grandma’s door. Can Willa find a way to thank the special friend who returned her doll? With its charming folk-style illustrations, this beautiful picture book will warm the heart of every child who has ever had a favorite, beloved toy.

My little nephew would love to read the book. We almost lost my daughter doll once but then remembered where we left it and were able to go pick it back up at the store.

My daughter had this little stuffed monkey she named Bob. Her first week of Kindergarden he never came home again after nap time and she was crying that night trying to get to sleep. I was thankful for Amazon Prime as I was able to find another one and it came 2 days later!

When my son was 3 we had come home late one evening after visiting my mother. When we got home, he went straight to bed. After about 20 minutes he quietly tiptoes in the living room and asks where his kitty cat is, we looked forever in his room; when we finally thought to look in the car, thankfully there it was.

I want to win this for my Granddaughter, she would love this book. We took a trip to the mountains for a weekend when Aubs was about 3 1/2. When we were leaving, we checked everything and loaded the car, checked out and left. We stopped for breakfast and our little angel went to sleep. About an hour later she woke up for us to stop so she could go to the bathroom. As she was getting out, she started moving things, we asked her what was wrong, she couldn’t find her Maggie bear. Long story short, we drove back to the hotel and the desk clerk said, nothing was turned into housekeeping. She had her hopes up and her little face went to sadness. About that time a lady came in and told the clerk that she had found a little brown bear and it was in the laundry room. Aubrey was overjoyed she hugged the lady so tight and told her, ” Maggie didn’t need a bath because my Mom gave her one before we left home.” After all the excitement, we ended up staying and eating lunch. Miss Aubs said, “I was scared Maggie might be looking for her cousins.” It was so funny because we talked about the animals in the mountains and said we might find Maggie’s cousins while we are visiting. She has been collecting bears since we actually picked up one in the mountains so Maggie could have a friend and not want to leave Aubrey.

Besides the book being cute, I honestly am hoping for the GC as my eldest son is in need of winter clothes and my youngest son only has one pair of play shorts left that he fits in. Daughter is good to go with clothes; neighbor has older daughters that we get clothes from when they grow out of them. Hey, just being honest here and, yes, I work. I actually have two jobs.

I want to win this giveaway because I think it would make a really nice present for my future niece as she gets older. And I would really like to be able to surprise her with the book and Teddy Bear on one of her birthdays or Christmas in the coming years.
