What to expect: Following Directions, Silliness, Interactive Story

What are you thinking about right now? Bridges? Forests? The leaning tower of Pisa? Well, this book really wants to know!

As long as it isn’t…silly. It’s not silly, is it?

Oops! Too late! You and your young reader are off on an adventure of wackiness complete with pink elephants, underpants, and very rude tooting.  But you’re in control, and only your young reader can get the scientist’s special lab back in order by thinking the least silly thoughts possible.

You can keep it together, can’t you? Give it a try, and good luck!

THIS BOOK CAN READ YOUR MIND is an interactive journey through the silliest lab imaginable. Children will laugh out loud when the scientist asks them to stop thinking about such ridiculous creatures, and then accidentally suggests the wacky creatures he doesn’t want you to think about. With adorable illustrations (wide-eyed elephants tooting and scurrying teeny mice) and a serious guy who seriously looks like he belongs in a serious lab, this book is too fun to put down. You’ll find that children immediately want to read it all over again, and will laugh the whole way through. We read the book three times in a row in our household – and there were always pink elephants! Who would have thought?

Interactive stories are a great way to bring reluctant readers in, and this engaging story is a sure crowd-pleaser for even the most distractable class or group. Perfect for the class, library group, or in your own living room, THIS BOOK CAN READ YOUR MIND is an awesome interactive romp through the sillies.

    About the Illustrator

Jacob Grant makes picture books. Absurd and heartfelt picture books. Originally from Ohio, he now lives with his wife and baby boy in a very windy city in Illinois. Day and night he can be found at his home studio, drawing, painting, and writing until something feels story-ish. When he’s lucky, some of this mess gets made into books! His previous titles include Bear’s Scare (Bloomsbury Children’s Books, 2018), Through With The Zoo (Feiwel and Friends, 2017), and Little Bird’s Bad Word (Feiwel and Friends, 2016).
