    Book 13-Story TreehouseThe 13-Story Treehouse

    Written by Andy Griffiths

    Illustrations by Terry Denton

    Age Range:  8+

    Hardcover: 256 pages

    ISBN: 978-1250026903

    Publisher: Feiwel & Friends (April 16, 2013)

What to expect: Humor, Friendship, and Adventure

Nothing but absurdity and crazy fun to find here! Andy and Terry live in an amazing thirteen-story treehouse. Just to name a few glorious features, it has a game room, bowling alley, vegetable vaporizer, a see-through swimming pool, and a machine that shoots marshmallows into your mouth whenever you are hungry. Andy is an author and Terry is an illustrator, and the pair write and illustrate books together, and they are behind on their deadline for their latest book. Unfortunately, or some may see it as fortunate, their lives are just way too lively and they keep getting distracted from their work by things such as a burp-filled bubblegum bubble, a bunch of monkeys, mermaids, a sea monster pretending to be a mermaid, and flying cats. How will they come up with a story in time for their deadline? The black and white comic-style illustrations play a large role in the storytelling and they are loaded with wisecracks. This is a book that will certainly unleash your creativity and you’ll most probably go on to design your own outrageous treehouse.

Andy Griffiths is an Australian author who first began by selling photocopied collections of his stories at shops and markets in Melbourne, Australia. During this time he was also sending his work to publishers. After many rejections over many years, perseverance, and writing practice, a publisher said yes. The 13-Storey Treehouse won the Australian Book Industry Awards Book of the Year for Older Children 2012.
