    The Park Bench: cover

The Park Bench/El banco del parque

    Written by Cristofer Edward

    Illustrated by Alina Burgun

    Ages: 6+ | 36 Pages

    Publisher: ‎CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform | ISBN-13: 978-1478140528

There was once a park bench made of sympathetic wood and friendly iron… Había una vez un banco del parque hecho de madera comprensiva y hierro amable…

This is the story of a park bench who wants to be friends with everyone who sits on it, and who just wants to help all of these new friends when they get into trouble. The carpenter who made the bench did not give it ears or a mouth, but with its positive energy the bench succeeds  — only to find itself without a friend in its own time of need… Reminiscent of The Giving Tree, this is a story that maintains its optimism, to be read by and to your loved ones around a cup of hot chocolate or a spot of tea.

    About the Author

Cristofer Edward was born in Eugene, Oregon, in the United States. He grew up playing baseball, until things got a bit too serious and he began to play with frisbees instead. His love for flying discs later became a love for flying in airplanes, and he spent two years studying in Italy. It was during his second year there that he met Mademoiselle Burgun. He moved to France, began to eat things called tartes flambées and choucroute, and taught English to schoolchildren. All of these things made him very happy. Visit, http://www.cristoferedward.com.

    About the Illustrator

Alina Burgun was born in France. She spent her childhood reading bandes dessinées, or French comic books, until one day she, too, began to draw. (But she never stopped reading comic books!) She practiced her drawing and learned to ski, and to play piano, and she became an adult. Adults do funny things, and Mademoiselle Burgun was no different. She went to Italy, where she met Mr. Edward. They were a good match, and at the end of the year, she took him back to France with her. Both of them think this was a pretty good idea. This is their first published book.
