This book is set in Louisiana’s swamp lands. A young 11-year-old girl named Birdie adopts a dog. She calls him Bowser. Bowser is very excited, but as they get back to their family shop, Gaux Family Fish and Bait, they notice Snoozy, an employee, lying fast asleep on the counter and Grammy’s stuffed prize marlin was no longer on the wall. It was stolen. Birdie finds out that there’s an old rumor that there is a treasure map hidden behind the eye of that prize marlin of Grammy’s. The sheriff is very suspicious of Birdie. As Birdie and Bowser start going farther into the mystery, not even Bowser can smell how vicious the threat is. And when bad guys come straight for Birdie, Bowser knows it’s up to him to save her.
This is an awesome book and everyone should read it!
