What to expect: Puppies, mischievous antics and bath time!

In Baby Chomper’s Bath Time, author Jeff Minich introduces readers to Baby Chomper, an adorable puppy with a warm-hearted glance and a mischievous grin! Baby Chomper is just like any other spunky puppy—he’s in a rush to explore the world around him and he doesn’t really have time to follow the rules of decorum. Despite his owner’s best intentions, Baby Chomper gets into a few messes and comes home in desperate need of a bath.

Thus begins a series of events that will be familiar to most any parent or pet owner—the chase to get the little stinker into the dreaded bath tub. Baby Chomper is no exception. His owner tries to explain that he needs a bath because he’s a bit dirty and smelly but Baby Chomper doesn’t want to take a bath. He runs, he hides, he tries his best to cover-up the smell but it doesn’t work. His owner eventually gets him into the tub. At first, the little puppy is upset but then he uses his imagination to reinvent his surroundings and tell himself a story. His ingenuity ends up making bath time a delight.

Young readers will surely relate to Baby Chomper’s cute antics and parents and caregivers will enjoy the story’s ending. The colorful illustrations are welcoming and will draw readers into the story quickly. The sing-song prose at the beginning of the story leads into a pleasant rhyming scheme toward the end, echoing the story arc and the flow from chaos to pleasant resolution. Baby Chomper’s Bath Time is sure to be a hit at bed time and bath time!
