My China Travel Journal:  Charming, Engaging Story about Daily Life in China.

Non-Fiction Kids Book: ChinaWe all know that China will be a major world influence throughout our kids’ lives, but what do we really know about life in China? My China Travel Journal is the story of Emma and Joe, two American children, who travel to China and tell us about the things they see. We meet the neighbors, a sidewalk artist, children flying kites, and more, and they all offer a bit more information about what makes China special.

This book is a fascinating and respectful look at Chinese culture that will spark the imagination of children leaving them open to the differences between people.

Emma and Joe’s observations make readers even more curious about China and its people and the book offers a recipe, games, and ideas for children to explore that curiosity and develop the topic on their own.

The author, Laura Barta, is endlessly curious herself about people and the world. “I just never get tired of learning about how people live and how they are different and similar to one another. My favorite ways to explore cultures are through cooking and travel, but the curiosity always starts with a book. I hope My China Travel Journal will be that book for someone.”
