Greenwild: The Forest in the Sky

    Written by Pari Thomson

    Illustrated by Elisa Paganelli

    Ages 8-12 | 364 Pages

    Publisher: Farrar Straus Giroux (2025) | ISBN-13: 978-0-374-39142-3

What to Expect: Magic, botany, ecological sustainability, friendship, adventure.

In this final book of the Greenwild trilogy, readers will once again join Daisy, Max, Acorn, the Prof, and Indigo as they try to save the world.

Time has passed since Daisy and her friends first set out to save Iffenwild and defeat the Duchess—but time hasn’t diminished the threat that the Reapers and the Reaper King pose to the Greenwild. Now, at last, the time has come to rescue the Botanists—including Daisy’s mother. However, things don’t get off to a great start. Daisy’s face is splashed across wanted posters and she’s lost the dandelight, while Max has managed to shipwreck himself and Acorn on an unrecognizable and uninhabited island while running from his counsellors—and that’s before they’ve even reached Amazonia. Hunted by the reapers and with time running out, Daisy and her friends can only trust in themselves if they want to save the people and the world they love so much.

With a penchant for stowing away and a fierce loyalty to their family and friends, Daisy and the rest of the Five O’Clock Club make an intrepid band of protagonists, and in this third book they will feel like old friends as readers follow the climax of their adventures. Blending the gritty realism of the human world with otherworldly Greenwild settings that will have readers searching for the magic in every plant and green space they see, the novel celebrates an animistic, ecologically focused worldview in which the human and the more-than-human sit side-by-side with the vulnerability of the natural world.

Perfect for readers who love natural magic and care deeply about the environment, Greenwild: The Forest in the Sky is both a thrilling adventure and a thought-provoking finale to the trilogy.
