    I’m Right Here

    Written by Michelle Grace

    Illustrated by Lea Androic

    Ages: 0-5 | 32 Pages

Publisher: Brown Books Kids (2026) | ISBN: 9781970910032

What to Expect: Family, mother-child bond, love, connection, imagination.

Moving from the domestic comfort of a wood-paneled nursery to sweeping dreamscapes of galaxies, oceans, mountain ranges, and meadows, this beautiful picture book makes the interior landscape of emotions and symbols visible and real, inviting the reader to expand their vision and imagination beyond themselves.

In this lyrical meditation from a mother to her child, the bonds of love take readers on a cosmic journey from the beginning of time through their own life and birth. Central to this journey is a single message—mother and child are connected through time and space, and no matter how far away a mother might seem, she’s always right there with you. Bookending the mythic journey is the cozy image of mother and baby snuggled close together in the nursery, grounding the message in the ordinary, everyday world. Inspired by the author’s real-life mother and daughter relationships, this picture book is a celebration of love, imagination, and connection.

Through the unnamed mother and baby who are the central characters, readers can connect the mythic to the personal and vice versa, underscoring the central message that love is much greater and more durable than physical presence alone. The artwork uses deep indigos, glowing golds, and warm pastels to fill each dream-like scene with fairytale magic; protective creatures suggest the connection between humans and the natural world, while the mother herself—as promised in the title—is always present. The short declarative lines spoken directly from mother to child keep the complex ideas of generational time and cosmology accessible to even young readers, while adding warmth that is perfect for shared reading.

I’m Right Here is a lovely gift for any mother—and the perfect story to read with your young loved one.
