    Moose's Nose Knows: Book Cover

    Moose’s Nose Knows

    Written by Stacy Taylor

    Illustrated by Bego Corbalan

    Ages: 4-6 | 32 Pages

Publisher: Miriam Laundry Publishing (2025) | ISBN: 978-1-77944-406-6

What to Expect: Dogs, pets, adventure, sensory exploration, friendship.

In this picture book, sensory details and colorful, full-bleed artwork take readers on a journey alongside a determined dog as he searches for his missing human companion.

The thing Moose is best at in the whole world is tracking scents—and there’s one scent he’s been missing all summer. When he finally catches a whiff of it, he simply has to track it down! Following his nose, Moose tracks the scent through flower gardens and into pig pens before finally catching a sniff of it on a moving school bus. Moose jumps on trucks and flower-delivery vans and even into the sidecar of a motorcycle before finally jumping off at a bus stop, and he’s able to jump in and find THE SMELL. It’s his best friend, Holly—finally home for the summer!

Moose is determined and resourceful, and readers will love seeing the mystery of the scent he is following unfold with each new turn of the page. As well as helping readers connect the written olfactory details to visual references, the illustrations are also full of humor, offering readers the subtext that Moose misses in his single-minded pursuit of Holly—the chaos he creates as he wanders through town.

Touching and lighthearted, Moose’s Nose Knows is a wonderful picture book for readers who love their dogs.
