    About the Book

My Name Is Not Ed Tug: Book Cover

My Name Is Not Ed Tug

Written and Illustrated by Amy Nielander

    Ages 4+ | 32 Pages

    Publisher: West Margin Press | ISBN-13: 9781513134871

Publisher’s Book Summary: Edimorwhitimormiligimmus Tug has a very special name that is all his own. But his teacher thinks it’s too long and hard to say. One day she shortens it to. . . Ed.

But he loves his name just the way it is. So he comes up with a plan—if he can teach everyone his name, maybe they’ll love it too!

Sweet and whimsical, My Name Is Not Ed Tug empowers readers to own their identities and proudly celebrate who they are.

Names are so important. They are our parents’ first gifts to us. They have history and meaning. For some it is the name we choose that embraces the best version of ourselves. Everyone deserves to be called by their correct name. This was simply beautiful.

My great-grandsons love books that make them laugh. They both have slightly unusual names as well, so this would be a fine book for them.

Parents name kids with strange names or spellings. It nice that someone is telling the kids about it and how and why that is his name. Zay’s name was made up by her mother

People are important and hearing their own name gets their attention. When somebody remembers your name, you remember how you felt. It looks like a book which highlights diversity and respect. My grand kids would like this book and the softly drawn people illustrations.
