    My Soul Treasue: Book Cover

    My Soul Treasure

    Written by Kate Searle

    Illustrated by Alison Mutton

    Ages 4+ | 28 Pages

    Publisher: Kate’s Soul Treasure (2022) | ISBN-13: 978-0645415421

What to Expect: Mindfulness, nature, gemstones, and emotional intelligence

My Soul Treasure takes the complex, abstract, challenging concept of “soul” and makes it feel tangible and real for young readers.

Everyone is made up of different parts, like the heart inside you, the mind that makes you tick, and the body that carries you through the world. However, that’s not all there is—each and every person also has a sparkling, shining, glittering soul! Your soul shines in all the colors of the natural world, helping you feel safe when you are scared or lonely, helping you be creative when you feel stuck, and cheering you up when you feel sad or down. When you don’t know what to think, feel, do, or be, your soul is there to guide you—all you have to do is listen.

The story evokes the beauty inherent in the idea of a soul through glowing and vibrant descriptions of gemstones and the natural world. It encourages readers to see their soul as an inner guiding voice of wisdom. Equally glowing and vibrant illustrations help readers travel the spectrum of emotions and colors, teaching them how to put words to their feelings and use mindfulness to manage them. The simple, accessible language also provides mantras that readers can use for self-talk when they need to tackle difficult emotions.

My Soul Treasure is a fantastic, joyful exploration of the soul that avoids explicit religious affiliations and welcomes readers into the concept of mindfulness.

Interesting concept and sounds like a book my granddaughter and her Mom will enjoy reading together, she six. and the pandemic did have a big affect on her emotions.
