    By Sarah Jones

    Age Range: 0 – 3 years

    Board Book: 14 pages

    Publisher: Blue Manatee Press (2013)

    ISBN: 978-1-936669-21-9

What to expect: Animals, Shapes, and Colors

Orange Triangle Fox is a sturdy and colorful board book that incorporates three learning opportunities into one! Each spread features a different animal, shape, and color with a darling illustration and clear and easy to read words. This book allows the reader to ask simple questions about colors and shapes without having other distractions on the page. It is perfect to promote creativity and higher level thinking. For example, if you are reading this book to an older child, you can ask them, “what do you think the red, square, owl is looking at?” The whimsical illustrations offer its readers an opportunity to daydream and will help create this conversation as well. It offers a rare opportunity of teaching these basics in a fun, colorful, and simple way! Given the way author-illustrator Sarah Jones crafts the words and images, it is definitely apparent that she is both an artist and educator.

This is a great learning tool to start reading to infants and will continue to build upon that foundation through age 3!
