Story Writing: A Workbook of Creative Writing Prompts for Kids 8-12 Awareness Tour is presented in partnership* with Rick Williams Sr. and The Children’s Book Review.

Turn big ideas into real stories!

Every kid has a story inside them. Story Writing: A Workbook of Creative Writing Prompts for Kids 8–12 by Rick Williams Sr. and Cherry-An Somoso gives young writers the tools to put it on the page.

Built around examples from the Dragon & Dinosaur Chronicles series, this workbook walks kids through the building blocks of storytelling, then sets them loose to create their own. Rick developed it from years of making books with his grandchildren and mentoring student apprentices, and it shows: it’s practical, encouraging, and a lot of fun.
