    The Children’s Book Review
    Published: February 29, 2012

Picture Book IllustrationBorn and raised in Chicago, Illinois he spent years wanting to write his books, but always put it off. Finally he told himself if you do not start now, you will never start. Bolivar finally sat down and started to write and draw. He found himself in excitement and pleasure, only wondering why he did not start sooner.

Bolivar wanted to develop a character that would be lovable and easy to remember. Like most humorous characters he would need a partner, Someone to help compliment the humor. Bolivar did not want to make long stories. He wanted interesting short stories with plenty of illustrations. He focused on writing and illustrating children’s books. He has as much fun drawing the illustrations as writing the stories.

He sat and thought about it for a while and then he created “The Adventures of Z.” These books are as fun to read as they are easy to read. Bolivar has read his books to  the kids at local schools. The kids reactions are all positive. They enjoy the stories while they are being read.

Z, the older brother, and Brad were born in a distant futuristic planet. They have an older sister Marci whom, like any young teenagers life, does not want to spend time with her younger brothers. Then there is their mom named Rosie and dad named Fil.

Z and Brad go through life doing seemingly easy task. No matter what Z and Brad seem to do, it turns out to be an adventure. Even a simple day at the park, going to the swing has a shift. Somehow they end up being chased by a large dog that they believe, wants to eat them.

But, the stories do not end there. Bolivar created a website that has activity sheets. Where anyone can down load them. His future books will have a twist. The next story coming out will be in June to July of 2012. He is over half way done with it.
