What to expect: Teen coloring book, THRONE OF GLASS references

For fans of Sarah J. Maas’ thrilling THRONE OF GLASS series, the characters are a sacred and richly imagined image in their minds. Now, Bloomsbury has released a coloring book complete with depictions of everyone’s favorite characters. There’s Aelin and Celaena (no spoilers here), Manon Blackbeak, Fae Prince Rowan, Elide Lochan, Lorcan, Baba Yellowlegs and more. Each page is created in beautiful, enchanting detail that brings favorite scenes from the books alive. Accompanying each picture is a corresponding quote from one of the THRONE OF GLASS books.

Coloring books for teens and adults have become a popular pastime for readers who want just a bit more from their reading experience – who can’t bear to let go. And with this lovely coloring book, Maas’ fans won’t have to. There’s Nehemia in all of her striking glory, pretty and secretive Sorcha in a heartbreakingly tender scene with Prince Dorian, and an exhilarating Valg confrontation. My personal favorite was a pivotal scene with Lysandra and a certain sharp stiletto blade. I found myself re-reading the quotes as I colored, reliving the magic of those books I’ve passed. It made me want to read them again!

The talented illustrators who brought this series to life are Yvonne Gilbert, John Howe and Craig Phillips. With their deft talent, the series springs to life. Any fan of the books will delight in page after page of rich and seductive illustrations. Readers will be swept back in to the world of magic and ancient lore, and they’ll never want to leave. The coloring book is a balm to the pain of waiting for the next installment of the THRONE OF GLASS series, TOWER OF DAWN, due out in September of 2017.

    Highly recommended.
